ICAR- NIVEDI’s NaaViC Agribusiness Incubation Centre (NaaViC), specialty in Animal Science and Veterinary Services was established at ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Bengaluru in the beginning of the year, 2019. It is one of the leading veterinary and animal husbandry sector incubators located in South India which is functional and operating in a larger scale. It is currently being supported by RKVY-RAFTAAR, ICAR-NAIF and DST-TEDP. It has a sprawling 5000 sq. Ft of area inside the ICAR-NIVEDI campus for Incubation activities.
Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) is a flagship scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (MoA&FW). It is aimed at strengthening infrastructure in Agriculture and Allied sectors by building Agripreneurship & Agri-Business ecosystem in the country, facilitating financial aid to potential Agristartups and nurturing a system of business incubation. NIVEDI‘s NaaVic, Agri-Business Incubation Centre is the implementing partner for the RKVY- RAFTAAR scheme in the country. The main focus of NaaVic is to support Agri and Allied sectors startups and Ideapreneurs from Ideation to commercialization, who are working towards Innovation, improvement or development of Product, Process and Services through capacity building, technical and business support, Accessing modern infrastructure and equipment facilities along with mentoring from pool of rich subject matter experts etc.
The main objective of Agri-Business Incubators (ABls) is to encourage, nurture and support technologists, scientists and Innovative agribusiness ideas to turn their innovations into sound commercial ventures. Such technology incubation centers help in initiating technology-led and knowledge-driven enterprises. It is now well-proven that such mechanisms help not only in the growth of technology-based new enterprises but also in improving their survival rate substantially.

Under this scheme NaaViC launched two programmes viz., NEO (Nurturing Entrepreneurs through Orientation) for ideapreneurs to convert their idea to prototype and NEST (Nurturing Entrepreneurs with Sustainable Technologies) for startup companies to launch and commercialize their product.

RKVY-RAFTAAR Scheme is a Grant-In-Aid scheme which aims to support and strengthen the startup ecosystem and provide entrepreneurs support for their ideas and innovations.
NEO and NEST Schemes are two sub-components of the RKVY-RAFTAAR scheme where a grant-in aid of Rs.5 Lakhs (INR) and Rs. 25 Lakhs (INR) respectively will be provided to eligble entrepreneurs and startups as per guidelines.
Charges for Incubatees will very nominal and as per guidelines.
NAIF-ABI Scheme is an Incubation scheme which aims to provide support to entrepreneurs and promote their growth.
Facilities at NaaViC-ABI include a state-of-the-art incubation centre, well equipped labs, hi-speed internet facility, etc.
IPR and Patent Related consultation support is provided to entrepreneurs who wish to apply for patent or already in the process.
